One of the best things about the Berkeley MFE curriculum is that, "everyone gets to choose his or her own journey," says Sophia Chami. Building on a strong foundation of core courses, electives, research projects and independent study allows students to "try new fields or dig very deep into one specific topic."

"Having studied mathematics from a very theoretical perspective in France, I really appreciate that classes at Berkeley-Haas are oriented toward business and finance. It is very useful to learn about the professional aspects from people with real industry experience."

"I've worked in finance before, but after my MFE courses, I now feel so much more prepared. I have much more theoretical and practical knowledge that is specific to what I will be doing."

"The work we do in teams is very constructive and creates an atmosphere where we can share. I connect Confidence Without Attitude with collaboration. It's important to be confident in your own abilities, but also to trust that your team members are bringing their best abilities to the work."
