Posting Open Positions

If you have a position that you would like shared with the MFE students at Haas, please contact our office. We will work with you to get the word out quickly to our students. Note that before you call, it helps to have the following:

Position Title and Description
Firms that provide detailed information about the available position and the company have the most success finding appropriate candidates
Position Start Date
If you have an immediate start date for your position, we can also email the posting to our MFE alumni for their consideration.
Preferred Method of Submission
Students can apply for positions in several ways: directly to the email address listed in your posting, through your company (or third party) website, or through our office. If you would like us to collect the submissions, we will keep your email address private, organize the files according to your preference, and email them to you in a compressed (zip) file.

Interviewing

On-Campus

Hosting on-campus interviews is one convenient and efficient way to meet our students. Our office can help you pick a date, select an invite list and choose the schedule that will accommodate both your travel plans and our students' classes:

Closed
You pre-select students to interview based on the resume book or other means (i.e. phone interviews).

Open
You allow students to compete for interview spots by submitting a proposal, cover letter and resume, or by taking a preliminary exam.

Split
You pre-select some candidates, and then allow students to compete for remaining spaces.

Off-Campus

If it's not possible for you to visit Berkeley, our office can assist in coordinating interviews off-campus. We hold career fairs in several major cities throughout the year where you could arrange to meet students, and we also have videoconferencing facilities.

Final Round Interviews, Offers and Notifying Candidates

Since firms have different timetables for scheduling advanced interviews, we ask that you keep an open line of communication with the MFE office and the students about their candidacy at each stage of your process. Although the timeline is ultimately your decision, we ask that you give students 1-2 weeks to consider your offer.

International Students

We encourage you to include international students on your interview schedules for both domestic and international positions. It is not difficult to hire an international student. Work permission for internships is authorized by officials on the Berkeley campus without employer involvement. Graduating students work for one year under the practical training provision of their visa while the employer applies for the H-1B visa to extend work eligibility.
